 Simon Reynolds su The Wire, parlando a proposito del neonato movimento del post-rock si esprimeva con questa arcinota frase:  “…..using rock instrumentation for non-rock purposes, using guitars as facilitators of timbres and textures rather than riffs and powerchords…..”
