Ensemble Nikel is the quartet of American, Switzerland-based percussionist Brian Archinal, Israeli electric guitarist Yaron Deutsch (who teaches at the Hochschule für Musik in Basel), Swiss pianist and keyboard player Antoine Françoise and German sax player Patrick Stadler. This quartet is focused on alternative contemporary, chamber music output where electric and acoustic sounds are fused into a unified sonic organism built on a wide, yet discerning musical vocabulary.
