Slovenia-born, Vienna-based Maja Osojnik is an experimental composer, vocalist, electro-acoustic improviser, sound artist, producer, DJ and the founder of the Mamaka Records label. Her work encompasses early music, contemporary music, alternative rock, experimental jazz, free improvisation and sound art, and she moves between analog and digital art, virtual and real spaces, deconstructing and reinterpreting the tonal spectra of mentioned instruments and assigning them new roles in a process reminiscent of building anagrams.
Doorways offers two extended compositions of Osojnik that she describes as “cinema for the ears”, or collages between nature and cyborg. The
