Draumr means dream in Faroese and it is the name of the electro-acoustic duo of Swedish composer-sound artist-concert pianist Eva Sidén and Danish electronics composer-sound artist-recording engineer-producer Christian Rønn. The duo’s title captures faithfully the sonic essence of their work. Their intuitive and collaborative composition practices resemble what could happen in a dream. Both Sidén and Rønn are interested in the grey zones where sound breaks up and transforms into something else, and both play the piano, organ, and multi-channeled electronics.
Draumr began working in 2019 when Sidén and Rønn were invited to a residency at Studio Acusticumin in Piteå, Sweden, where they could explore various combinations of piano instruments and the huge pipe organ with electronic sounds.
