Ilinx is the trio of Romanian, New York-based vocalist-guitarist Suzana Lașcu, Dutch pianist-synth player Reinier van Houdt, and sound artist-DJ-clarinetist-guzheng and electronics player Robert Kroos, all are genre-defying composers who work in the realm of acoustic and electronic music alike. Their debut album, Flipperen, is based on the randomness of old pinball machines (taken from the Dutch Pinball Museum), transformed into chaotic, unpredictable, concise music pieces. The music reflects Fluxus artists’ experimental, interdisciplinary spirit who embraced randomness, chance, and unconventional methods.
