Joke Lanz & Petr Vrba – Mutants in Siberia

Czech experimental trumpeter-electronics player Petr Vrba (the founder of Prague Improvisation Orchestra with American double bass player George Cremaschi,  the dramaturgist for Alternativa festival in Prague and Radio DJ at Radio 1) and Swiss, Berlin-based prolific turntables wizard Joke Lanz (aka Sudden Infant, whose endless list of collaborations include French hyper-pianist Sophie Agnel and German vocal artist Ute Wassermann) first met many years ago while standing in the cue for the Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg. They never made it into the museum; instead, they ate solyanka soup and drank red wine from Georgia. That’s when they decided to join forces and form a power duo comprised of an electrified trumpet, turntables, electronics, and voice.
