British legendary vocal artist Phil Minton and Norwegian drummer-percussionist Ståle Liavik Solberg (who is more than a generation younger than Minton) have been performing as a duo on and off for about ten years, but TRUE is the first album that documents their work. It was recorded live at Oslo’s long-running concert series for improvised music, Blow Out (which Solberg curates), at Kafe Hærverk in November 2023.
The album features a 38-minute piece that finds these resourceful, inventive improvisers in top form, suggesting a playful, absurdist conversation between two close friends who share many experiences and secrets.
