French-Filipina, Copenhagen-based pianist Margaux Oswald leads her most ambitious project to date, the pan-European septet Collateral Damage (a term that has been used – or normalized – much too redundantly lately) with unconventional instrumentation, featuring two guitarists – Swedish Niklas Fite (with whom she recorded Silent Plums, Varför? 2021) and Norwegian Hein Westgaard, three double bass players – Lithuanian Aurelijus Užameckis (who recorded a duo album with Westgaard, Duo!, CRRNT, 2022), Latvian Uldis Vītols and Polish Rafał Różalski, Danish drummer Simon Forchhammer (who plays with Różalski in the Alawari sextet) and Oswald herself.
