Clara Levy is a French, Brussels-based violinist-improviser who focuses on developing solo projects addressing different topics at the core of contemporary music practice, experimental music and free improvisation. She plays in European contemporary music ensembles such as the French ONCEIM (l’Orchestre de Nouvelles Créations, Expérimentations et Improvisation Musicales) and Hantasu Miroirr, the Belgian Ictus and the German Contemporary Insights.
Outre-Nuit (Beyond the Night) is a series of quiet, ethereal meditations for solo violin, structured as a concert program, and remotely inspired by French painter-sculptor Pierre Soulage’s approach to the reflection of light while only using different textures of black.
