American, Zürich-based electronics player, audio-visual artist, and writer Jason Kahn creates slowly developing compositions imbued with a sense of timelessness. He first played with German, Berlin-based pianist Magda Mayas in Zürich in 2012. Mays, like Kahn, is a tireless sonic explorer and has developed a unique vocabulary for the piano, utilizing both the inside and exterior parts of the instrument, using amplification, preparations, and objects that become extensions of the piano. Since 2019, Mayas has been the program coordinator and teaches improvisation at Luzern University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
